How to do it
Climb easy problems one after another with little rest, until you feel warm and loose. Keep your breathing calm and your hands relaxed - use only as much force as each hold needs. It's mileage, not a challenge.
Want this in a plan? Seven questions and you get a plan built around your climbing.
Take the quizWho it's for
Getting warm without thinking about it. Easy problems back to back, calm breathing, relaxed hands: mileage rather than a test.
Common mistakes
- Squeezing every hold as hard as you can. Use only as much force as the hold needs. That's a skill in itself and this is a good place to practise it.
- Making it a challenge. It's a warm-up.
- Resting between problems. Little rest is what gets you warm.
How to progress
Nothing to add. If you finish pumped, it was too hard, and the session that follows will suffer for it.
