Coach terms

Last updated

These terms apply when you start or join a team in the coach area of Blok Sessions. They come on top of the terms of use. You accept them, and confirm you're 18 or older, before you get a team. If you start a team for a club, gym or business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it. This is version 1.

What you see, and what it's for

Climbers in your squads share their logbook, tests, Workload and check-ins with you, and in youth squads their age and height measurements. The privacy policy lists exactly what. Some of it is health information, shared because they, or for under-16s a parent, agreed to it.

You use it only to coach those climbers. That means:

  • Keep it inside your team's coaches. Don't post it in group chats or send screenshots of it, and don't show one climber's data to other climbers or their parents.
  • Share it beyond your team's coaches only with a doctor or physio, and only with the climber's OK (a parent's under 16).
  • In a youth squad, talking with a climber's parent about how their child trains is fine. For climbers of 16 and over, only with their OK.
  • Add a climber before they've joined only if you coach them, with their name and nothing you don't need. Give them their personal link yourself, and remove them if they don't want to join.
  • Put coaches only on the squads they coach. Make only the coaches who need every squad head coaches, and remove a coach from the team on the day they stop.
  • Don't use growth or check-in data to pick or drop climbers. It's there to keep their training sensible.
  • Keep it confidential, also after you stop coaching. If you copied anything out of Blok Sessions, delete the copy when the climber leaves your squad.
  • We log which climbers' training you look at, so misuse can be traced.

Check-ins and pain

Every check-in question can be skipped, and climbers can leave a squad whenever they want. Saying no to a check-in, or leaving, never costs a climber their place. Don't pressure anyone to answer, and never hold an answer against them: a climber who says a finger hurts should be glad they told you.

A flag means a climber told you something worth talking about. Blok Sessions doesn't diagnose anything and can't tell you whether someone is fit to train. If a young climber's finger pain hasn't gone after two weeks, tell them and their parents to see a doctor.

Coaching minors

Follow your club's rules for working with young people, including its VOG (or whatever background check applies where you coach) and its code of conduct. Before you let in a climber under 16, check the parent's email address shown to you against your own records.

Requests and incidents

Pass any request about a climber's data to hello@bloksessions.com. If a climber asks you to stop seeing their training, remove them from the squad.

Your account is yours alone: don't share it, and use a strong password. Two-factor sign-in is worth switching on, especially if you coach a youth squad. If you think someone saw climbers' data who shouldn't have, a lost phone or a shared screen included, email us within 24 hours, so we can act and tell the people involved.

Who's responsible for what

We're responsible for how Blok Sessions stores the data and shows it to you. The club, gym or business you coach for is responsible for what its coaches do with what they see. If you coach on your own, that's you. The same goes for the training itself: the plans, exercises, notes and videos you send are yours, and so is whether they suit the climber. We don't check them. Your team runs its own squads, youth squads included: who you let in, how you train them and how you work with their parents is up to you and your club, and we don't supervise or moderate it.

Paying for a team

A team for up to 5 climbers is free. A head coach buys a paid plan on Stripe's checkout page, for a club or business or as a private coach, yearly or monthly (Unlimited is yearly only). Prices include 21% BTW, and Stripe emails the invoice. A club or business gives its VAT number at checkout, so it's on the invoice.

  • It renews by itself until a head coach cancels it, under Team, then Plan. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • When a plan ends, or a payment still fails after Stripe has tried again, the team is free again: 5 climbers and no Pro. Climbers already in stay in, but you can't let anyone new in until there's room. The same goes for a smaller plan.
  • A club or business has no 14-day right to cancel. A private coach has one, but gives it up by asking at checkout for the plan to start straight away. If you haven't, email us within 14 days for a full refund.
  • Apart from that, we don't refund a period that has started, unless the law says we must.
  • If a price changes, we email the head coaches at least 30 days before it applies, and it applies from your next renewal.

You buy from Blok Sessions, the trade name of Frank Blokdijk, Jan van Schaffelaarstraat 23, 3771 BR Barneveld, the Netherlands (KvK 42113691, VAT NL005504221B81).

Ending it

We can remove a coach or a team from the coach area if these terms are broken. You can leave a team at any time, and a head coach can remove a coach. If these terms change, you're asked to accept the new version before you carry on.
