A climbing training planner for Android
There's no Android app: Blok Sessions is iPhone only. On Android, plan in your browser instead. Go to bloksessions.com/app on your phone or a computer and make a free account. You get the same plans as the app's Plan tab: lay out a multi-week plan by hand, group the weeks into training periods like Strength or Deload, and fill the days with exercises from the same catalog, each with its minutes, intensity and injury risk. Planning in the browser is free. If you move to an iPhone later, log in with the same account and your plans are there.
Blok Sessions plans live in your free account, so the browser planner and the iPhone app show the same plans.
Start with the free six-week strength plan: a file for the app and seven short emails on how to run it.
Or start planning in your browser with a free account.

iPhone app, browser planner
Every time a climbing training app launches, the top comments ask the same thing: is it on Android? For Blok Sessions the honest answer is no. The app is iPhone only.
What does work on Android is the planner, because it runs in a browser. Your plans live in your account, not on one device, so the planner on bloksessions.com and the Plan tab in the iPhone app are two views of the same thing.
What you can do in the browser
- Make a free account with your email address. Nothing to install.
- Lay out a multi-week plan by hand. Pick the days you train and what goes in each one.
- Group the weeks into training periods. There are seven: Base, Strength, Power, Power endurance, Endurance, Performance and Deload. Each exercise lists the periods it’s meant for, so you can keep the hard ones out of an easy week.
- Fill the days from the catalog. Warm-ups, finger and pulling strength, power, endurance, technique drills and cool-downs, each with its minutes, intensity and injury risk.
- Add a plan somebody else made. Plans shared on bloksessions.com/community can be added to your plans with a free account, and so can a plan a friend or coach sends you with a private link.
Training from it on an Android phone
Open the planner in your phone’s browser before you go, and you’ve got the day’s session with you at the wall. For the how-to of each exercise, the exercise pages on bloksessions.com have the full instructions. 4x4s, Abrahangs and max hangs, for example, each have one with the sets, the rest and who shouldn’t do them yet.
For timed hangs you’ll want an interval timer. Check that yours takes a rest between sets as well as between hangs, or repeaters turn into counting in your head.
If you move to an iPhone
Log in to the iPhone app with the same account and your plans are there. Change a plan in the browser and it’s in the app the next time you open it, and the other way round. The app adds what only works on a phone in your pocket: home screen widgets, and with Pro, the session timer on the Lock Screen.
Who this is for
Boulderers who already train and want their weeks laid out: which days are hard, which are easy, and when the deload comes. If you’re just starting out, you don’t need a plan yet. Climb lots of different problems, and come back to the planner when you want structure.
