How to do it

Pick 4-5 boulders well within your ability. Climb each one 3 times, trying to move without stopping between holds: as you reach, let your hips swing toward the side you're reaching to, and let that momentum carry you into the next move. Rest about a minute between climbs.

Who it’s for

Climbers who stop dead between every hold. Linking moves with the hips saves energy and looks better, and both matter when you’re pumped.

Common mistakes

  • Rushing instead of flowing. Continuous isn’t the same as fast.
  • Only moving the arms. The hips lead. That’s what carries you into the next move.
  • Choosing boulders that are too hard. Well within your ability.

How to progress

Same boulders, fewer pauses, then take it onto problems near your flash level. Filming a lap makes the pauses obvious in a way that climbing them doesn’t.
