How to do it

Climb 20 boulders in 20 minutes on vertical, or overhanging terrain. Prioritize clean movement, and not stopping or giving up when pumped.

Who it’s for

Volume and pacing in one twenty-minute block. It’s a good way to end a session, and a good way to find out how you climb when you’re already pumped.

Common mistakes

  • Sprinting the first ten. Even pace. Twenty in twenty means one a minute, not fifteen in eight.
  • Letting movement fall apart at the end. Clean climbing is the standard, pumped or not.
  • Picking boulders that are too hard. Flash level or one below.

How to progress

Steeper terrain or a grade up, same twenty minutes. If you’re finishing with time to spare, add boulders rather than difficulty.
